Working With Us

For a real insight into life here and more detail on what some of our specialist roles involve, here are a few stories that offer a glimpse of what could be in store for you when you join.

A day in the life of a Customer Advisor

9.00am Welcome our first customers to the branch, chat to Mrs Jones, a regular customer to the branch and enquire how her holiday was.
10.00am Review marketing information available to customers and update some of the branch posters and leaflets. Perform some general administrative tasks and weekly checks of the branch.
11.30am Discuss the high costs of living with Mr Davies and arrange for a Home insurance quote from our Key Seller.
1.00pm Enjoy some lunch
3.00pm While discussing rates with a customer who has a maturing bond, suggest he take advantage of the financial review service we offer with a Financial Consultant in order to take advantage of the best savings rates available. Arrange a meeting and provide the customer with an appointment card.
4.00pm Upon discussing mortgage rates with Mrs Smith, find out that she is currently not making the most of low interest rates for her mortgage. Suggest that she have a meeting with our Mortgage Advisor to see if we can reduce her monthly payments.
4.45pm Banking, till balancing and closing down the till.
5.00pm Close the branch and ensure all messages have been communicated to the rest of the team.

A day in the life of an External Affairs Coordinator

No two days are the same in the World of PR, but the overarching aim of protecting and enhancing the Society’s reputation remains the same

9.00am I check my emails and pick up any voicemails. I flick through the day’s newspapers and look out for any Principality mentions, any stories about the industry that may impact on our members. I copy any relevant cuttings to senior management, heads of department and Branch Managers.
11.00am After preparing a journalist distribution list I send the release out nationally, follow-up with a couple of calls and answer some journalist enquiries relating to the product detail.
12.30am Time for a bit of lunch and some window-shopping in the city.
1.30pm Back at my desk, I review a portfolio of pictures taken at a photo sitting the day before. After selecting the best shots of each of our expert spokespeople, I send them over to the picture desk of a regional newspaper, for the launch of our new personal finance column
2.00pm Pull together a quick brief for our photographer that evening – a local branch has extended their support to the community football team, to help them to buy a new kit. The branch manager will be attending their first match this evening with them wearing their new kit presenting a great photo opportunity.
5.00pm Check and respond to any e-mails before leaving for the day.
